One of the most expensive parts of the car to fix is the transmission. A damaged transmission could cost as much as several thousand dollars. What’s sad about it is that it could have been avoided.  Of course you can completely avoid all car problems. But your chances of avoiding it would greatly increase your if you follow the 3 tips that we will discuss.

So first thing you want to do is pay attention to your car. This tip is given free but you should make sure that you do it regularly.  What I mean by paying attention is seeing if it is leaking fluids.  Is it shifting gears roughly? Those are some signs of problems with your transmission. All my clients of my San Marcos auto repair always get a list of what they should look out for between maintenance.

Second tip is also free.It is also something that you can control. That is, taking care of your cars by driving well.A lot of people drive very hard and they don’t care what happens to their cars. They don’t realize that they need to take care of it to avoid costly problems.  A lot of the times the cars that need to be repaired in my Carlsbad auto repair shop you can tell which cars weren’t taken care of.And it also means that they spend more money on repairs than those who regularly take their cars in for check ups.So do the right thing and take care and regularly maintain your car.

Final tip does cost money. But spending money in following this advice would give you a lot savings in the long run.And that is what you call preventive maintenance. You have to take your car in for regular checkups.Just like when people go to doctors for a checkup of their health. That would be the same for your cars where you should take your car in regualrly for maintenance. And thay way you could save a lot of money by repairing minor problems before they develop into major problems. And you would also be able to catch early problems.  The earlier you catch problems the less you will have to spend.

So use these tips wisely.  It is what I give to all my clients of my Carlsbad auto repair. It can make them save a lot of money on repairs.

One of the things that people can’t live without is a car.  If you think about it most people would be lost without it.It is definitely a necessity nowadays. But it is an expensive thing to buy as well. And this is not just about the money that you spent on buying it.But also in the costs that you pay in keeping it maintained or in repairs.  And if you truly want to get the most out of your car you need to keep it maintained.  So here are some tips on keeping your car in good shape.

First thing you need to do is change the oil regularly. It sounds simple but it is very necessary for your car.  I try to remind the customers of my San Diego auto repair shop how important it is. By regularly changing the oils of your car will definitely make your car last longer.  But if you neglect it, there could be major damages to your car.  Your car’s engine can get ruined without oil. That is a very expensive repair.

Another thing that not changing your oil can do is cause your car to fail a smog test. Not doing this and coupled with not doing regular tuneups will result to a failed smog test.  It happens all the time at my San Diego smog check shop.  I have people that bring their cars in who never changed their oil. And they also did not make their cars undergo tuneups. As a result, their cars run badly.Their engines also ran badly.  So they failed their smog test. But that is just the beginning of problems. Not caring for your cars the way it was mentioned above will result to major problems.

Finally, you must take care of your brakes. This is another essential part of your car that is always used. And also, it is one part of your car that is very costly to repair.  One of the pieces of advice I give to all my San Diego brake shop clients is to take care of their brakes.Abiding by these steps will make your car last longer.

Ways to avoiding spending money on car repairs

One thing that people often don’t mind doing is maintaining their cars. They do not realize that this simple task can let them save a lot on auto repairs.  But not only save them money but also save them time.Because maintenance will take a lot less time than repairs. So what are the ways to avoid spending on auto repairs?

Well, first thing you can do is to always keep your car tuned up. It is a simple maintenance procedure. But it is a procedure that will make your car last for a long time.  In my San Marcos auto repair shop I always encourage my clients to bring their car in for tune ups.  It isn’t so I can make more money.  But it is so they can save money.

Another thing I always encourage car owners to do is to let their cars undergo regular oil changes. Being able to do this task will go a long way.  It will help their engine run smooth and last longer.Compare the oil to your blood.  Just like a person, without blood, it won’t survive.A car with low oil levels can damage its engine severely.  I have seen it too many times where customers brought in a burnt out engine into my Carlsbad auto repair shop. And the reason for this is just due to low oil levels.  So be smart and change your oil regularly.

Last thing I always remind my clients is that they regularly check the transmission of their cars.  Just like the engine, the transmission is a very expensive part to replace.  But having it last long is easy. You just need to take care of it regularly.  In my transmission repair shop I always tell my clients to check their transmission fluid.  Letting this run down can ruin their transmission.

So, that would be it.  If you perform these few things you can avoid costly repairs.  Plus your car will last longer.

All car owners experience some problems with their cars.  It doesn’t matter if you have a Mercedes or a Hyundai.Cars are just machines that will eventually break down. But there are things that you can do to avoid this from happening. Or if not avoid you can at least lessen the problems they give you.

First problem we cantal about is the problem caused by running your car on low oil. This one should not even be a problem. But some people out there with cars neglect this one basic fact that cars burn oil.Since it consumes oil it will run out if you don’t check and refill it.  That is one of my biggest pieces of advice for my Escondido auto repair company.Be sure to check your oil levels all the time.If the level is low already then immediately fill her up.  It will save you some major engine damage if you run it low on oil.

Another common problem that people always bring to my Oceanside auto repair shop is check engine light problems. It usually about your emmision when your check engine light turns on.  First thing to realize is you don’t have to panic. It’s not something that can cost you a lot on repairs. You should consult your car manual first and see what it exactly means. You might want to consult a mechanic about later but do not lose sleep about it.

Last problem I would tackle is about clicking noises. This is mostly caused by rocks or debris that got stuck in the tires. You can just take some time off and go take a look at your tires. If you find something stuck in your tires then you can just use some pen or stick to remove it from its place.  It is nothing major that can hurt your car.It justs makes you worry because it sounds like there is something wrong.Or it can also be annoying especially if you find out that it is not something to worry about. But it would not even hurt your car even in the long run.

So, there’s some of those most common problems of your car.I hope that the next time you encounter these problems you would not be too worried anymore.

Important auto repair maintenance for your car

One thing a lot of people are unaware of is how important your car’s maintenance is.  We take for granted these cars that get us around wherever we want to go.We don’t even seem aware that our safety is at risk whenever we go out. Plus they seem unaware to the fact your car is also in danger whenever there is driving done.So the following are two very important auto repair jobs for your car.

First thing doing tuneups is really important to your car’s overall health.  What I mean is to have a regular tune up schedule for your car.As talked about already, your car is really one of your big investments in life.  If you don’t maintain it you run the risk of ruining it.  I have seen many clients ruin their vehicle and take it into my San Diego auto repair shop after the fact.I notice that if there was just some routine maintenance performed, a lot of the problems could have been avoided.

Another point to take in is the fact when you do regular tuneups you will also make your car run cleaner.  With so much emphasis falling on clean air and emmissions it is important.  Because if you don’t take care of your car it can run the risk of faiing a smog check.  I have seen older cars that when taken care of pass with flying colors in my San Diego smog check shop by doing regular tune ups.I have also witnessed the opposite way as well.Cars that the owners did not care for usually fail miserably.

Finally one of the very critical parts of your car will be the brakes. But most people don’t even give it a second thought most of the time.By not doing a good job of caring for your brakes you are taking a chance of more expensive repairs.  In my San Diego brake shop I see cars have expensive brake repair jobs because they didn’t do simple maintenance. By just keeping an eye on their brakes.Or if they did have some checks performed on it regularly it could have saved them some money.

Finding transmission problems at home

One of the most costly repairs you can have for your car is the transmission. It is a huge part of your automobile.  Taking care of it is very important.By making sure your car is taken care of you will save yourself a little bit of money.Since this is a repair you can’t do on your own, you still have some things that you can check.By doing the checking first at home, you can verify if you really need to bring it in.

First off since I own a San Marcos Auto repair shop I know how expensive transmission repairs can be.So i like to have my clients do some checks themselves prior to taking it in.This way you can double check to see if it really needs to be brought in.  First off they can check the fluid. The fluid needs to be real clear. If the fluid is dark or black that is an indication of a problem and they have to bring their car in.

A second thing they can look at is how the gear shifts. You accomplish this by simply moving the gears from park to drive.  Or you can move it from park to reverse.  What you are looking for is for the gears to shift smoothly. What you don’t want to feel is any jerking motion. If you find that your car is jerking that is an indication of problems with your transmission.  In my Carlsbad transmission repair shop this is one of the big signs of transmission problems.  A lot of cars that come in have this very problem.

Finally you can check for any leaks of your transmission fluid. This is something you can check with your dipstick. But you won’t be able to tell unless you do this checking regularly.  I advise all my customers in my Carlsbad auto repair shop to always check your fluids.  People are familiar with checking for oil.But they need to also look at their transmission fluid.  This way they can tell if their fluid is leaking.

If you follow these tips you can make sure your car’s transmission stays good.

Correct ways in avoiding auto repairs

Maintaining their cars is one of the things that people hate about it. It is a waste of time and troublesome to bring your car to the repair shop.  It is a hassle taking the time waiting for your car to get fixed.Plus it costs the owner a lot of money.  What people don’t realize is if they had done some routine maintenance they could have avoided it.  They could have not needed to do the repairs they paid for.

During my ownership of my San Diego auto repair business I always advise my clients to do regular maintenance.  I try to show them by doing simple things they can avoid costly repairs. But their cars running smoother is not the only benefit that they can get. They will be more happy with the car that they own. This are the results when they just take care of their cars the way cars should be cared for.

First thing that they should do is to make their cars undergo regular tune ups.  By keeping your car tuned up your engine runs smoother. And regular tuneups will also improve your car’s chances of passing a smog test.  One of the biggest cause of failures in my San Diego smog check shop is the fact that people neglected their tune ups.Regular tune ups can greatly help in making a car pass a smog test.

Another suggestion I give to my clients is that they should always check and regularly maintain their brakes. One of the most costly repairs people bring into my San Diego brake shop is fixing the brakes.Something as simple as breaks may cost a lot and burn a hole in the car owner’s pockets.  If they have to replace the brake system it can be expensive.  But by just checking the fluid levels will help. Also, make sure to check if there are any noise coming from the breaks.  Catching brake problems early lessens the damage.

These few simple steps when done by car owners will save them a fortune in repairs.

One of the expensive repairs you can do on the car is a transmission repair. It is one of those things you hate hearing about in regards to repairing your car.Naturally most people will want to know some ways to get it to last longer.  Or they want to know if it is even possible. Like anything it is possible. You can ensure that it can last longer by being sure to care for it.  But here are more specific things you can do to make your transmission last longer.

First thing you always want to do is maintain proper fluid level.Just like most things in your vehicle you want to have your fluids at the right level. But when you are talking about your transmission it is important to making it last longer.  Whenever a client takes there car in to the Carlsbad transmission repair shop I run I always check their fluids.  I also recommend they always keep a close eye on their fluid levels. If they try to operate their car with low fluid levels they are going to ruin their transmission.  Or it won’t last as long as they want.

Second thing they can do is that heat kills transmissions. So you will want to do some things that will help your transmission to run cooler. One of the most effective way to accomplish that is by putting in some transmission cooler. You can find some easily at an auto parts dealer.  Of course when clients come and bring their cars in to our San Marcos auto repair shop we add it in also. This allows the transmission to run a lot cooler.

Finally this way is going to be easy.Do not ever attempt to shift gears while the car is in motion.  You will be surprised at the number of people who ruin their cars by shifting gears while the car is moving.  I am not because we see it all the time in our Carlsbad auto repair shop.People have their cars come in with transmissions ruined because they tried to shift while it was moving.

Signs of transmission problems

The transmission is one of the most expensive parts of a car to be repaired. In general like most of your car they are built well. But it will be broken over time and it is vey expensive to fix.  So you want to always maintain your transmission. So let us now look into some signs of a transmission problem.

First signs of problems with the transmission is usually the fluids.  If you go to check the fluid with a dipstick it can give you a sign. If you notice that the fluid level is always low then that might be a sign of a leak.  If the fluid is dark or has a burnt smell that is a sure sign of problems. So to be sure that your car does not suffer any major problems with the transmission make sure that you check your fluids regularly. If you find any of these signs take it into a auto repair shop.  I catch a lot of transmission problems early in my San Marcos transmission repair shop with these signs alone.

Another sign of transmission problems is when you have a delay when you shift it into drive. If you shift it and it does not get into gear immediately then that’s a sign of a problem. They call that problem a delayed engagement. This is a sign of a worn out transmission problem but there can be other causes. I have all my clients take it into my San Marcos auto repair shop anytime they get the delayed engagement problem.

Last sign of problem that I know of is when you shift the gears and it is jerky then that would be another sign of problems to come. All shifting done when driving should be smooth and not jerky.  This is the sign of a worn transmission if your car jerks everytime it shifts gear. I catch a lot of problems early in my Carlsbad transmission repair shop when this happens.By detecting problems earlier, a customer can save more money instead of spending it on repairs.

Used cars and the importance of information technology in selling it

Buying and selling used cars is a huge business. It will grow bigger during bad economic times.More and more people need to sell the cars that they can’t maintain. While people that needs to buy a car will instead opt for a used car rather than a new one.Maintenance records are very important especially now in the information age.Mainly because used car records can be easily viewed and scrutinized.Cars that are more maintained will bring more money to the table. That is why it is very important for you to maintain your cars well.

You may have seen those commercials where a buyer is demanding to look at the cars maintenance records. That is something to believe in.As more people get to know about this service they may want to avail of it too.So your car must have a good record if you really plan on selling your used car. Whenever I service any client at my San Diego auto repair shop I make sure they always get a record of their service. The number of clients that think that this is not important may surprise you.

It is very important.  For example with stricter smog laws you don’t want a car that hasn’t been maintained well.  I get cars in all the time while checking them at my San Diego smog check shop who fail because of improper maintenance. Cars that pass these smog tests are the cars that are usually getting regular tuneups.Cars that have not been maintained are the ones that usually fail.

It also applies to the brakes.  By not maintaining your brakes can turn minor brake jobs into expensive ones.  Just by doing regular maintenance for my clients at my San Diego brake shop I have been able to save them hundreds if not thousands on extra expenses. And it might also save your and others lives by taking care of these brakes.

So in this age of information where every records can be searched be sure to keep records of all the services that your car has gone through. It will be able to help you in the long run.
