A lot of important choices need to be made if a woman is pregnant. She needs to go choose a doctor that suits her needs and wants. They need to choose a hospital whre they would deliver their babies. And some other things. What pregnant women do not realize is that they have a choice aside from the usual way of delivery and this is called natural delivery. That is the method where drugs are not administered during delivery. With more and more people concerned with health this is a gaining popularity. One profession that helps in this area is midwifery.
What is midwifery? It is the practice of assisting women to give birth naturally. There are other defintions. But this is the simplest definition. As a San Diego midwife that is the job which is to help a woman attempt to deliver naturally. There are a lot of benefits to this. The use of no drugs is, of course, the main benefit. And without using drugs the delivery goes faster.Because most drugs administered during the delivery actually slows down the delivery.
Now not only are women attempting to deliver naturally there are some choosing the home. They are choosing the home to deliver their baby. This different from what people are usually doing. But it offers a lot of benefits. As a homebirth midwife San Diego I have been able to see these benefits firsthand. The privacy of the place is one benefit a mother can get from this method. Also less intrusive medical procedures are needed because of the way the delivery is done.
There will definitely be objections and sceptics will not stop looking for something to criticize. Some say there are safety concerns. But this factor should not be a big deal if the pregnancy is a low risk one.But if the pregnancy is a high risk one then it would not definitely be recommended. In my midwife San Diego practice I always advise my clients to go with the normal delivery in a hospital if it is high risk. That way any concerns can be taken care of by a doctor.
The misconception about midwives

Midwifery is a profession concerned about the well-being of a pregnant mother. They provide prenatal care as well attend the birth. They also provide postpartum care as well. In general, midwives are not usually nurses although they can be. But they are regulated and governed. But where do the misunderstandings come in?
The misunderstanding stems from the practice of giving birth at home. In my practice of helping women as a San Diego midwife, homebirths are where people get confused.People think that home birthing is an unsafe way of delivering a baby. But for low risk pregnancy they are safe.Midwives also carry necessary medical equipments in case something unavoidable happens. And since the way they deliver babies is very safe most complications are avoided.
This is the part where the benefits come in. As some midwives in San Diego perform their services they do it with a natural delivery. This is where no medicine is involved to help in labor. No medicine is administered to the mother during birthing. But by not using medicines to help the mother during the delivery the birthing can finish at a faster time.Because most of the women do not know that medication will slow down the delivery. So by not administering medicine to the mother the delivery would be faster.
And when the mother decides to undergo water birthing more positive things can be benfited by both the mother and the baby. From doing waterbirth in San Diego in my practice the water eases the delivery. The water soothes the muscles of the pregnant mother resulting to an easier delivery of the baby. Plus the shock and stress that the baby undergoes during birthing can be reduced by being released into water.
As you can see there are misconceptions about midwives and their profession. But I’m hoping that you will understand that this method is safe for low-risk pregnancies. And midwives also have rules and regulations given by a governing body. That is why midwives are required to undero extensive schooling on midwifery. They have some know-how in medical procedures that is needed in birthing. So safety should not be of concern since they also have medical emergency equipment. It can be a good choice for women.

Water birth is a method of delivering a baby that is still not common but is now gaining popularity among mothers. It is not like the usual way of giving birth where the patient needs to lie down on a medical bed.But it is safe to use in giving birth to a baby.
So what we are going to do is look at the water birth process and it’s benefits. These are going to come from experience that I have gained as a San Diego midwife.Water birth is the method of giving birth to a baby while the mother is submerged in water.Usually, it is done in a tub full of warm water. One reason why they say water birthing is good for the baby is because the baby will enter an evironment similar to where he lived for 9 months which is water. It is one way for the babies to get adjusted because they also have been in water for almost 9 months.
There are also studies where it is shown to be beneficial in reducing birthing pains. For women that is a big relief to here. Most of the time this procedure makes no use of medicine. I have performed many without medicine as well as many other midwives San Diego I have spoken with.
Is water birth a safe way to deliver? It is safe to use for most of the cases as studies have shown.Due to certain medical conditions,in some cases, it isn’t advisable to use. I have had that happen in my water birth San Diego service. The best thing to do is consult a doctor first.
Water birthing has another benefit in reduction of skin tears. This can be a painful occurence during delivery. But undergoing through water birthing will reduce those pains. Because it soothes the skin.
This could be the right method of delivery for you if you just follow these procedures. It has a lot of benefits for both the baby and the mother. As always consult your doctor first to see if it right for you.

It seems commonly assumed that the way to deliver a baby is in a hospital.Or to be more precise, a lot of people think that when you have a baby that you have to use medicine. In this article we hope to point out some facts that break those assumptions. We are going to describe some different methods that might be better for you.
Of course these observations are going to be coming from the viewpoint of my experience running a San Diego midwife service. If you are unaware midwives are woman who help assist during the delivery process. Most of the time with no medicine in a homebirth.
So why are there a few women going with this alternative method? For the many women that go with this method and understand it, it is because of several reasons.
First thing to consider is when no medicine is used, it usually makes the labor and delivery happen a lot quicker.Quite a few women don’t understand that when you use medicine it makes the labor slow down. Women use it to ease the pain but it actually prolongs the pain. There are many certified midwives in San Diego who can show you proof of that.
Second, when you do use a natural method such as a waterbirth, it actually helps the muscles and the body because it soothes and relaxes during the delivery. This of course helps ease the pain and makes delivery happen much faster. I have seen it helping many women have a waterbirth in San Diego.
Those are a couple of the reasons that women choose a homebirth as the method to deliver.Even though there is no use of medicine and doctors aren’t usually present, it is still a safe alternative. When the delivery is in the home, it helps foster a more private and personal environment. Rather than in a hospital where there are several people who poke and prod through the labor. So for these reasons many woman prefer a homebirth. It is a dignified and safe way and a process that is natural.
Reasons for having a waterbirth

Having a baby is the one of the most precious moments for a woman. The experience of delivering a new life is like no other.Even though it has a lot of pain associated with it, the majority of women will believe it is worth it.
As a San Diego midwife I would like to share with you a method that you might not be aware of.It is also known as waterbirth.
Waterbirth has been called probably of all the methods of delivery the gentlest. It utilizes and requires the use of a bath or pool that is heated.A few woman will just use the water for the pain of the labor part. This is done because the water that is heated is very pain relieving. It is relaxing to the tissues.
Other women will also delivery the baby through it.They don’t leave the water till the delivery is all the way through.Even till the placenta is delivered all the way through.
The entire procedure is usually administered by someone that is referred to as a midwife. If you are in San Diego there are plenty of midwives San Diego. You will want to find an experienced one.
Why is there some woman who prefer this method of delivery rather than the hospital procedure? As described earlier, delivery and the labor part is extremely painful.A majority of women will use the drugs to try and stop the pain. But for some women, they don’t want drugs for fear of harming the baby.Using this method of waterbirth helps reduce the pain.Because of the
water heated it is soothing to the tissues and helps reduce the pain.
Most women will have this procedure usually done naturally. They won’t ask or use any drugs to help lessen the pain of labor and delivery. Often times this actually helps the labor happen faster.Because when you use the drugs it can really slow down the labor.
It is actually a very safe alternative of delivery. For women looking to having their baby naturally this might be the way to go. I have seen many happy deliveries as a San Diego licensed midwife. All it takes for a woman is to research and see
how safe it is.
