This is from a perspective from my experience running a San Diego auto repair company.The two things I want to take a look at is your safety and the overall health of your car. 

So when we are talking about safety in reality all vehicle maintenance pertains to safety.But there is a part of your car that is critical to safety.  That part is your brakes.With automobiles going much faster than they used to, good brakes are a must. With people being distracted with so many things you really need good brakes.By ensuring that your brakes are in good condition you will ensure yourself the ability to stop in time.  Well taken care of brakes save lives and money.  I have seen it first hand running a San Diego brakes shop.

In relation to your car, your car’s overall health will be dependant on how well maintained you keep your car.Some of the crucial things you have to do is to make sure you always change the oil and get tune ups. Well the time of people having a lot of wealth and extravagance is now gone.For a lot of Americans excessive items like a new car is a thing of the past. Now when a family is in need of a new car they are forced to look into buying a used car.  This is evident in all of the financial problems the big 3 carmakers are having.There sales have plummetted.

But families will still be needing a form of transportation.But when the money is hard to come by most families are going to have to choose a cheaper option.  That alternative is used cars. 

As a San Diego auto repair shop owner I am asked to inspect some of these used cars.  Because when you are buying a used car you don’t want a lemon.  So by getting a proper inspection done you can avoid costly problems.

So when you are examining the used cars, take in mind these 2 things to look for.First you will want to inspect the brakes.  We do San Diego brakes in our shop.  So I know first hand that brake repairs can become expensive.If you buy a used car where the brakes were not taken care of by the previous owner it can become expensive.  Last thing you want is to have to replace the entire braking system.So be sure you have good brakes.
